The ancient Egyptians loved flowers. They admired flowers in gardens and in vases, and they loved to sew flower petals, leaves, and berries into festive collars and head dresses for special occasions. Blue and white lotuses, cornflowers, lilies and poppies were their favorites because of their bright colors, lovely shapes, and delightful fragrance. Here a young man is stopping to choose some flowers to bring to the older sister when he visits the family tonight.
